Shona A. Moore, QC, is a founding partner of Moore Edgar Lyster LLP, with a practice focused on labour and administrative law. Shona has nearly 40 years of experience representing trade unions and their members in both provincial and federal jurisdictions. She is sought out by both private and public sector unions to assist with complex labour relations issues and is highly respected within the trade union movement for her practical and strategic advice. Shona graduated from the UBC Faculty of Law in 1979 and was called to the Bar of BC in 1980. Shona served as a Vice Chair of the BC Labour Relations Board between 1983 and 1986. Shona served as a Bencher of the Law Society of BC from 1990 to 1994 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1996. Shona has been an executive member of the Labour Section of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch), and the Regional Vice President of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. She is a frequent speaker on a wide variety of subjects including labour law, human rights and ethics, and has instructed Federal Labour Law at the Canadian Labour Congress Winter School for over 30 years. Shona has served as a director of the Continuing Legal Education Society, the West Coast Legal Education and Action Fund, and the BC Civil Liberties Association.
