Aldo Argento practises primarily in the areas of Aboriginal law, commercial arbitration, and insurance litigation. Mr. Argento has acted as counsel in the litigation and arbitration of commercial disputes in the energy industry, construction cost overrun and delay claims and issues relating to policy interpretation and coverage. He has also acted on a number of fire loss claims, including matters involving the energy industry. Mr. Argento has also acted in a wide range of matters in the Aboriginal law field and advised government and industry in this area. The cases he has worked on have involved defending court challenges to project approvals and the interpretation of First Nation treaty and Aboriginal rights throughout Alberta and Western Canada. He regularly advises clients on various issues involving the duty to consult First Nations in the context of natural resources and project development. Mr. Argento is the partner in charge of professional liability risks for Alberta and is the Insurance Business Group Leader for Canada.
