Claudia Déry’s practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation and regularly represents clients before the Québec trial and appeal courts. Particular expertise in the area of professional liability, construction law and is co-Chair in Canada of the Norton Rose Fulbright construction, engineering and infrastructure team. She has advised a number of clients in litigation in construction-related matters. She also has experience in drafting tender documents and construction contracts. Frequently invited to make presentations and conduct training sessions on construction law topics and conducts the annual review of construction case law for the Canadian Bar Association. She has been ranked in The Best Lawyers in Canada since 2006 in the area of construction law and was recognized in Lexpert®/ALM 500 Directory 2019. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the past president of the Construction Law section, Québec Branch and was appointed Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers in 2012. She is the co-author of La construction au Québec: Perspectives Juridiques. She completed her LLB degree at Université de Montréal in 1992, called to the Québec Bar in 1993. Ms. Déry teaches also construction law to students in the Master’s program at Université de Montréal.
