Carol Hitchman is a partner at Sprigings IP. Her practice focuses primarily on IP litigation. Ms Hitchman has developed a broad range of experience as a litigator. She is also a qualified Patent and Trademark Agent. Ms Hitchman has appeared before all levels of the Federal Court and the Ontario court, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. Her practice focuses on pharmaceutical patents, but also includes trademark and copyright matters. Ms Hitchman has written numerous papers and given presentations for the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), including presentations to the Federal Court judges and prothonotaries. Ms Hitchman has taught Patent Agent tutorials for IPIC and at the IPIC McGill patents course. She is the author of a chapter on remedies in pharmaceutical litigation in Intellectual Property Disputes – Resolutions and Remedies. She has served on many committees, including the IPIC litigation committee and IPIC Council. She is a past president of IPIC and currently serves as a member of the IPIC professional regulation committee and the Federal Court IP Users’ committee.
