Practice focuses on project development and finance and Aboriginal law. Has led some of Canada’s largest and most complex renewable power project financing and has advised extensively on project development, including several innovative “first-of-type” projects. Represented various stakeholders, including First Nations, Aboriginal-owned entities and private-sector developers negotiating with projects involving First Nations and advising on the duty to consult and accommodate. Has advised on project financings in various industries, including electrical, healthcare, rail transportation and mining in several Canadian provinces and territories. Has also advised on numerous restructuring projects internationally, including in Russia, Hungary and South Africa.
