Carolyn MacDonald is a partner with over 13 years of experience practising law in British Columbia, she uses her unique perspective and experiences as a lawyer to provide innovative solutions to complex cross-border tax issues for her clients. Carolyn advises Canadian and foreign companies on a wide range of matters such as corporate reorganizations, mergers & acquisitions, cross-border financings, and Canadian and international transactions. She advises on inbound and outbound cross-border investments, due diligence, acquisitions and divestitures. Her clients include both public and private companies across a variety of industries. Carolyn strives to provide forward-thinking tax advice which reflects the rapidly changing international tax environment. She is a frequent writer and speaker on international tax issues, including most recently the impact of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Multi-lateral Instrument and Pillar Two initiatives on Canada’s tax system and treaties. Carolyn currently serves on the editorial board of the legal journal The Advocate and the Young International Fiscal Association Network Committee (Canada) and previously served on the board of the Vancouver Bar Association for over a decade.
