Chris has more than 30 years of experience in completing commercial real estate transactions. His practice includes a wide range of real estate matters affecting all classes of real estate assets. He is often engaged in the purchase and sale of major real estate assets. He has significant expertise in mortgage financings, joint ventures, and development projects. Chris also advises pension funds and their advisers concerning the various rules relating to the investment by pension funds in real estate. Chris's clients include pension funds, mutual funds, life insurance companies, and other institutional investors, as well as lenders, advisers, non-resident investors, and developers. He is the co-coordinator of the Blakes Commercial Real Estate practice.

On November 30, 2018, Essar Steel Algoma Inc. (“ESAI”) concluded its comprehensive restructuring under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act by way of the sale of substantially all of its assets to Algoma Steel Inc. (“ASI”).
Minto Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust (the REIT) (TSX: MI.UN) completed its initial public offering of 15,863,100 trust units at a price of $14.50 per unit (the Offering). The Offering raised gross proceeds of $230,014,950, including through exercise of the underwriters’ over-allotment option in full which option exercise was completed July 10. The units trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol MI.UN.
On June 28, 2016, Riverstone Investment Group LLC (Riverstone) completed the acquisition of a 50-per-cent ownership interest from Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) in the Utopia Pipeline Project (UPP).
