Colin is a member of the Real Estate Group in Dentons' Edmonton office, and his practice is focused on providing counsel to clients in the areas of real estate and environmental law. Colin has extensive experience in all commercial real estate transactions including purchases, sales, and leases of properties and provides advice on other agreements such as easements and rights-of-way required in respect of such transactions. Colin has particularly strong experience in commercial leasing and has acted for both landlords and tenants, from individuals and sole proprietors to large corporations and other entities. Colin also has extensive experience in environmental law matters, particularly as they relate to real estate. He advises on purchase and sale, leasing and other transactions in respect of contaminated properties; he has concentrated on the environmental aspects of such transactions and has advised on real estate and development issues concerning downstream oil & gas matters. He also advises conservation organizations with respect to real estate and environmental law issues, including conservation easements and federally-regulated ecological gifts of land.
