David G. Finlay, KC, serves as Counsel to the Firm’s Real Estate group. A lauded corporate advocate, David brings more than 40 years’ experience in the commercial development industry. He acts for real estate development clients in the acquisition, development, leasing and financing of commercial, industrial and residential developments. David provides respected and highly sought after legal counsel to clients with complex corporate and governance issues in both the public and private sectors. He has developed a niche area of interest with respect to various compensation models for physicians and the governance issues that arise in medical practices. David is well known in the Edmonton community, having served on numerous boards for public and private companies, as well as various charitable organizations. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the University Hospital Foundation, where he also serves as Vice Chair. He is a member and past chair of the Minerva Foundation, a past board member of the Support Network Foundation and a former director of the Canadian Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (CACOLE). David is also a past member and chair of the Edmonton Police Commission, and a past member of Environmental Executive Policy Group CAPP.
