Hugh DesBrisay is a founding partner of DMG Advocates, a leading dispute resolution boutique firm. He is an experienced advocate who is relied on by clients seeking practical dispute resolution advice and forceful representation. He currently acts as counsel in numerous commercial, products liability, and franchise law disputes before courts at all levels and in private commercial arbitrations. He is lead counsel in the defence of ongoing products liability and consumer class actions across Canada. Hugh has been a speaker and workshop leader in Osgoode Hall’s Expert Witness Certification Program and a speaker on class action practice and on a wide variety of advocacy-related topics. For many years, he was an instructor in the Osgoode Hall Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. He served on the Board of Directors of The Advocates’ Society, where he was Chair of The Advocates’ Society’s Education Committee. He has been a speaker at conferences of The Advocates’ Society, The Association of Canadian Defence Lawyers, and the Ontario Bar Association.
