Jamie is an experienced civil litigator who deals with management-side labour and employment law, with special focus on occupational health and safety (OHS) matters. Her work has helped create safer work environments for employees in all industry sectors. Jamie’s practice also incorporates all aspects of labour and employment law to help clients and businesses navigate complex personnel matters, and workplace conflicts and disputes. Helping organizations respond to serious workplace accidents, addressing administrative appeals, defending employers charged under provincial and federal occupational health and safety legislation, and performing regulatory compliance reviews and audits are all part of her practice. Since the legalization of cannabis in Canada, Jamie has become a thought leader in working to develop and update cannabis, drug and alcohol policies for Canadian companies. She also conducts independent investigations as a skilled human rights lawyer. She has experience dealing with a variety of workplace harassment (including sexual harassment) and violence situations. Jamie is also a small business owner, as co-director of Maples Academy of Dance, where she continues to actively teach and enjoys engaging with the local business community.
