Practice focuses in the areas of administrative, municipal, planning, and development law, as well as general commercial litigation. Has extensive experience in dealing with planning and development and other regulatory matters involving municipal, provincial, federal, and First Nation governments, and, in particular, has represented developers and other stakeholders on complex projects that required regulatory approvals from multiple levels of government. Has appeared with respect to administrative, municipal, planning, development, and regulatory matters before numerous administrative tribunals, as well as all levels of courts, including the Alberta Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada. Served as a member of the City of Edmonton Development Appeal Board / Subdivision and Development Appeal Board for six years, with the last year as Chair, and was an instructor on administrative advocacy at the Legal Education Society of Alberta Intensive Trial Advocacy seminar. Has been a director of the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club in the Canadian Football League since 2013 and currently is Chair of the Board. Member of the Canadian Football League Board of Governors since 2017. Admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1988.
