Leigh Ann Sheather is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office. Acting primarily on behalf of financial institutions and large creditors, Leigh Ann’s practice focuses on creditors' rights and recovery services. With more than 25 years of experience in her field, Leigh Ann has practised extensively in the areas of mortgage enforcement, recovery of secured and unsecured debt, as well as bankruptcy and related litigation, including insurance and professional responsibility. Leigh Ann is frequently called upon to advise on matters of creditors’ rights. She has appeared before all levels of Ontario courts, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal. Leigh Ann has held a number of leadership positions within the firm. She currently sits on the Gowling WLG Board of Trustees and has previously acted as Hamilton Office Managing Partner and lead for the national Recovery Services Practice Group. Leigh Ann has been recognized in both The Best Lawyers in Canada and The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory. A passionate advocate for animal welfare, she has served as a board member of Zachary’s Paws for Healing, a Hamilton-based charity that facilitates in-hospital pet visits and offers fostering services for pet owners facing long hospital stays.
