Marie-Eve Bélanger is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s Litigation Group in Montréal. Her practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation and professional liability (civil and disciplinary). Owing to her expertise in health law, she represents physicians in professional liability proceedings before the Civil Courts, the Disciplinary Council of the Collège des médecins du Québec, Hospital Disciplinary Committees, the Tribunal administratif du Québec, and the Professions Tribunal. In this practice area, she is considered to be one of the best lawyers in Québec. She has given numerous conferences on health law and civil procedure. She also regularly teaches discovery, cross-examination, and trial techniques. She is currently acting as Co-President of the Centraide (United Way) fundraising campaign, President of the Health Law Committee of the Canadian Bar Association and as well is a member of McCarthy Tétrault’s Race Action Group. Marie-Eve obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Montréal in 2002, earning a number of academic distinctions. She clerked with the Honourable Louis LeBel at the Supreme Court of Canada in 2003–2004 and was called to the Quebec Bar in 2004.
