Construction legislation in Ontario is changing dramatically. In Ontario, the New Construction Act not only modernizes lien proceedings, but also creates a “prompt payment” scheme and an adjudication scheme. It is essential for all participants in the industry to appreciate the impact of this innovative legislation which is the first of its kind in Canada.
