In addition to maintaining his employment and labour practice, as Managing Partner of DLA Piper’s Toronto office Michael Richards is responsible for business planning, recruitment, budgeting and high-level strategic decisions while overseeing 140 personnel. Since his 2016 appointment, the office has seen substantial growth from 44 lawyers to more than 70. Richards has represented clients before various levels of court, before administrative tribunals, at arbitrations, in mediation and at other negotiations, including collective bargaining. He performs pro bono legal work through Pro Bono Ontario for the HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario and Innocence Canada.

Michelle Roth is the founder and Chair of Goodmans’ LLP`s Seniors Housing division and President and CEO of SenbridGe, a division of the firm focused on healthcare and aging. Roth provides strategic ongoing and transaction-specific advice to organizations and handles a diverse range of M&A transactions that involve healthcare assets. With specialized expertise in CMHC-backed debt financing, all levels of healthcare regulation and industry mapping for transactional purposes, Roth played an integral role in the formation and subsequent financings of many of Canada’s largest seniors living and healthcare delivery providers. Roth has been a board member of the Royal Conservatory of Music and The Hospital for Sick Children’s Executive Cabinet.
