Canada 3000 Takes Over CanJet

On May 1, 2001, Canada 3000 Inc. successfully completed its acquisition of CanJet Airlines from I.M.P. Group Limited for consideration equal to 900,000 common shares of Canada 3000. The combined operations of Canada 3000, which recently acquired Royal Aviation Inc., and CanJet will result in revenues exceeding $1 billion.

Canada 3000 was represented by a team from Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP consisting of Tom Koutoulakis, Ann Watterworth and Jason Bullen (securities and corporate), Frank Monteleone (competition) and Chris Norton (tax). Ted Nobbs, Q.C. of Nobbs, Woods, Kavanagh & Bateman acted as counsel for transport and regulatory matters for Canada 3000 and I.M.P. I.M.P.’s in-house, Halifax-based team included Bernie O’Rourke, Rick Benwell and Mike Myrick.
