Recently announced blockbusters (Agrium-Potash, Enbridge-Spectra) sent deal values way up in the third quarter, but as a 10-year graphical analysis shows, volumes remains low, with only 54 deals (over US$50 million) announced July 1 to September 30. In fact, deal volume in the most recent quarter was at its lowest point since the third quarter of 2009.
