Stephen is a recognized leader in the forest products sector. He practises corporate and commercial law with a focus on the natural resource sector. Stephen acts for multinationals, real estate trusts and family-owned businesses in various complex transactions involving both real estate and operating business assets. He advises on the ongoing business operations of a number of Canadian forest products companies. In addition to managing their large-scale acquisitions and divestitures, he has a particular expertise in long-term commercial and joint venture arrangements within the forest products and various other industries. Stephen advises clients on their effective long-term stewardship of Canada's natural resources, and often assists in the establishment of sustainable relations between First Nations communities, conservation organizations and natural resource companies. Stephen is a member of the Dentons local management board. He is Chairman of the Québec board and member of the national board of Nature Conservancy of Canada and is an elected Councillor for a municipality in the Laurentians area of Québec. He is a trustee and officer of the Martlet Foundation. He also sits as a director or trustee on the boards of a number of business sector clients.
