Cherie is a partner in the firm’s Toronto office. She has an Aboriginal law practice with a focus on commercial real estate and renewable energy. She provides strategic counsel to several First Nations and industry clients seeking to develop projects with First Nations and to understand and address Aboriginal rights and interests. As lead counsel to the First Nations Energy Alliance on the Integrated Power System Plan review, her counsel was instrumental in promoting Aboriginal participation models for renewable energy procurement. She is a member of Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. She has been named one of Lexpert®'s "Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40". Cherie is a member of the LSUC Aboriginal Law Certified Specialist Working Group, advisory member of the Collaborative Circle on Land and People for The Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada, member of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association Policy Working Group, and member of the Ontario Bar Association. Cherie is a noted lecturer and writer, having presented and published articles for various industry groups across Canada. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2003.
