Gerry Ranking is recognized as a leading litigator whose practice focuses on all aspects of civil, administrative and commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on professional negligence, pensions, cross-border issues, shareholder rights, banking, insurance, product liability and employment matters. He has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada and before administrative boards and tribunals. Gerry taught advanced civil procedure and negotiation skills at one of Canada’s leading law schools. He is regularly called upon to advise one of Canada’s largest accounting firms, as well as major Canadian insurance and public companies. Gerry lectures on a wide variety of topics ranging from commercial litigation and ADR issues to managing exposure in regulatory investigations. He is a member of The Advocates' Society and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is frequently recognized in top legal publications for his litigation expertise. Gerry was called to the Ontario Bar in 1984.
