Selena Kim has practised in intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution for fifteen years. She has been involved in representing clients in all levels of court as well as before government agencies, in matters including patent disputes involving complex mechanical, chemical, and pharmaceutical inventions, trademark and copyright disputes, and judicial reviews involving the application of intellectual property legislation. Selena has also been Certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Intellectual Property Litigation (patent, trademark, copyright), and is currently the only woman to have achieved such a triple certification in the Law Society’s history. Selena also conducts patent agency work before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, having been qualified to practice before both agencies since 2003. She assists inventors and companies in preparing and advancing their patent and industrial design applications before both agencies. She also assists clients with intellectual property portfolio management, infringement and validity assessments, and freedom to operate opinions.
