Emphasis on project development and infrastructure, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and partnerships, financing and commercial leasing. Extensive experience with projects, financings and other business transactions involving First Nations and interests in First Nation lands interests. Acts for both industry and First Nations and is recognized as a leader in the area of structuring and financing projects involving First Nations. Counsel for the First Nations Tax Commission on the proposed new federal First Nations Property Ownership legislation. Has written on “Real Estate Transactions with First Nations in Canada,” “Development on First Nations’ Lands,” and “The Regulation of Real Estate Securities in British Columbia.” Admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1987.
