Mr. De Lellis has significant experience in insolvency and restructuring and has provided advice on award winning insolvency matters. He played a leading role as monitor’s counsel in the restructuring of Arctic Glacier Income Fund, winner of the Turnaround Management Association Midsize Company Transaction of the Year in 2012, and a leading role in the restructuring of Comark Inc. under the CCAA, winner of the Cross Border Restructuring Deal of the Year at the International M&A Awards in 2016. Most recently, he has acted as debtor counsel to Tervita Corporation in its $3.5 billion recapitalization transaction under the CBCA. He is currently acting as debtor counsel leading day to day matters and strategy for Ben Moss Jewellers Western Canada Inc. in its CCAA proceedings, and for a syndicate of DIP Lenders and an ad hoc committee of term lenders in the insolvency of Essar Steel Algoma Inc. He also acts on complex corporate recapitalizations, BIA proposals and bankruptcies, receiverships, complex cross border matters, acquisitions, financings, governance matters, secured transactions and the enforcement of debtor and creditor rights. Michael has served as counsel to debtor corporations, lending syndicates, bondholders, equity sponsors, purchasers, governments and court officers.
