Andrea Laing is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Her practice focuses on complex corporate/commercial litigation including class actions, securities litigation, directors’ and officers’ liability and cross-border disputes. She has acted in major class proceedings in the areas of securities, product liability, pensions, consumer reporting and e-commerce and has argued cases at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. She also represents parties to commercial arbitrations and has advised clients facing investigations in a number of regulated industries. Since the introduction of statutory liability for secondary market misrepresentation in Ontario, Andrea has been actively defending public issuers and their directors' and officers' against class actions premised on misrepresentation claims. Andrea writes and speaks about class action developments and teaches civil procedure and advocacy. She has been recognized as one of the "Litigation Lawyers to Watch" in The 2011 Lexpert® Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Litigation Lawyers in Canada.
