Lexpert and PwC Canada (PricewaterhouseCoopers) are teaming up to ensure that the upcoming Canadian Law Awards reach the highest possible standards, as expected by followers of the publication or brand.
With the success of the inaugural Canadian Law Awards in 2020, Lexpert felt it was appropriate to join forces with an independent third party who can verify the process and validate the results.
“Lexpert and the Canadian Law Awards team have worked meticulously to create a transparent selection and voting process,” said Tim Wilbur, Editor-In-Chief of Lexpert. “This involves a profession-wide call for nominations and judging by a panel of independent senior members of the legal profession, who vote for their choice of winners, according to strict criteria.
“The addition of PwC Canada to verify the exhaustive selection process adds further credence to the awards and will further solidify these as the premier recognition in the industry.”
As one of the largest professional services firms in the world – delivering assurance, tax and consulting on a global basis – PwC was the ideal choice as Official Ballot Accountants.
“We’re proud to partner with Lexpert as official ballot accountants for the Canadian Law Awards,” said Jennie Chan, national leader, Forensic Services at PwC Canada. “We’re looking forward to making an important contribution to this exciting event by applying the professionalism, independence and thorough procedure the nominees deserve.”
A total of 26 award categories will recognize the outstanding law firms, in-house legal teams, individuals, deals and cases over 2020, ensuring the Canadian Law Awards truly reflects excellence in the legal profession. The event is presented by Lexpert and supporting publications Canadian Lawyer and InHouse, in partnership with Bereskin & Parr LLP.
