Alexandra develops business-focused, outcome-driven legal solutions for clients involved in complex commercial disputes, transactional litigation, shareholder activism, regulatory investigations and crisis management situations arising from cybersecurity breaches, alleged violations of anti-corruption legislation, fraud, accounting irregularities and whistleblower claims. She has appeared at all levels of Court in Canada and before numerous regulatory tribunals. 

Alexandra also uses her expertise in disputes to inform her advice to clients about how to proactively avoid litigation as well as regulatory and/or criminal sanction. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has conducted internal investigations for companies with operations around the world. Alexandra also oversees the Firm’s cybersecurity initiative in Vancouver and assists in the development of Blakes’ Annual Canadian Cybersecurity Trends Study. 

Clients praise Alexandra’s ability to assess complicated issues in a holistic manner, taking into account not just legal outcomes, but also economic factors, overarching business objectives and reputational implications. In 2021, Benchmark Canada named her one of the Top 50 Women Litigators in Canada. She was also the only Canadian featured as one of GIR’s Top 100 Women in Investigation this year. 

Alexandra is an active supporter of pro bono legal initiatives with one client noting her “determination and industriousness.” Alexandra also speaks and publishes extensively on subjects including ethics, corporate governance, organizational culture, fraud, asset recovery and crisis response to professional organizations, boards and businesses. She is the Chair of the Diversity Committee of Blakes’ Vancouver office and also contributes regularly to local and national training and mentoring initiatives.
