Agfa Acquires Mitra Imaging

Agfa-Gevaert N.V. of Belgium has acquired Waterloo, Ontario-based Mitra Imaging Inc. and its foreign subsidiaries. Agfa is one of the world’s leading imaging companies. It produces and markets analog and digital imaging systems for various industries including healthcare. Mitra is a leading provider of imaging and information management systems for healthcare enterprises. The transaction closed on January 3, 2002 following receipt of approval from the German Federal Cartel Office. The acquisition will permit Agfa to develop larger and more integrated clinical solutions. The deal’s value is confidential.
