Bell Globemedia Sells SportsNet Interest to Rogers

Bell Globemedia Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary CTV Inc., sold its 40 per cent interest in CTV SportsNet Inc. to a subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc. on November 1, 2001. Prior to the sale, the SportsNet shares were held by R. Scott Colbran as trustee. The deal consisted of cash proceeds of approximately $130 million.

Bell Globemedia’s legal team was led by André Serero, group vice-president, legal and corporate secretary; and included Kathryn Robinson (CRTC), David Matlow (corporate) and Carrie Smit (tax) of Goodmans LLP.

Acting for the trustee were Daniel Ferguson, John McKellar and John Pandell of WeirFoulds LLP.
