CAE Sells Business

CAE, Inc. sold its sawmill equipment and service business based in Salmon Arm, B.C., to New York-based Three Cities Research, Inc. (TCR), controlling shareholder of Coe Manufacturing Inc. The deal closed on August 16, 2002 and the value is undisclosed.

TCR and Coe was represented in Canada by Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, with a team led by John Elder and Sander Grieve in Toronto and Gary Sollis in Vancouver, and in the U.S. by Dorsey & Whitney LLP in New York, with a team led Kevin Collins and including Tasha Hailey and Andrew Donovan, Robert Franklin, Yosbel Ibarra, Brian Davis, Christopher Bellini and Frances Luke.

CAE was represented by in-house counsel Hartland Paterson, and by Stikeman Elliott with a team led by Ted Claxton and including Claire Zikovsky, Hélène Deschamps-Marquis and Adam Atlas in Montreal and David Martin and Thomas Wachowski in Vancouver. CAE was represented in the U.S. by Larry Crouch of Shearman & Sterling in San Francisco.
