Cirque du Soleil Refinances Credit Facilities

On July 11, 2003, Créations Méandres Inc., Groupe Cirque du Soleil Inc. and Cirque du Soleil Inc. refinanced their existing credit facilities and entered into a credit agreement with a syndicate of lenders led by La Caisse centrale Desjardins du Québec. The credit agreement provides for an operating facility, a revolving term facility and non-revolving credit facilities. The value of the deal is undisclosed.

Créations Méandres, Groupe Cirque du Soleil and Cirque du Soleil were represented by in-house counsel Anne-Marie Papineau, and in Canada by Christian Sioufi and George Maughan of Ogilvy Renault. In the U.S., Edwin Maynard, Eric Goodison, Thomas de la Bastide, III, Daniel Elie and David Tayar of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York acted for the borrowers.

The syndicate of lenders was represented by Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Montreal, with a team that included Marc Novello, Martin Racicot and Johanne Chambers.
