City of Brampton Sells Brampton Hydro

On July 31, 2001, the City of Brampton completed the sale of Brampton Hydro Corporation and its subsidiaries to Hydro One Networks Inc. for $260 million.

Hydro One was represented by Joan Prior, Executive Vice-President and General Counsel, Rod Crown, Assistant General Counsel and Cassidy McFarlane, counsel, assisted by external counsel Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. The Osler team, led by Chris Portner, included Eden Oliver and Michael Hart (corporate), Peter Franklyn and Steve Sansom (competition), Tim Schumacher (real property), Michael Bowman (municipal), Dan Kirby (environmental), Joey Steiner (litigation and insurance) and Norm Loveland and Kim Wharram (tax).
