ConjuChem Completes Convertible Debt Financing

On August 20, 2004, ConjuChem Inc., a Montreal-based biotechnology company, completed a $15 million convertible note financing with Baker Brothers Investments, a New York-based fund with a life sciences sector focus. The note is convertible into 3 million common shares of the company at $5.00 per share and was issued together with warrants exercisable into 1,050,000 common shares at $6.25 per share.

ConjuChem was represented by Ogilvy Renault, with a team comprised of Clemens Mayr, Lindsay Matthews and Elliot Greenstone. Baker Brothers Investments was represented by Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg, with a team comprised of Berl Nadler, Timothy Moran, Mindy Gilbert and Olivier Desilets.
