Fiera Axium Infrastructure Purchases GE Energy Interests in Toba Montrose and Dokie 1 Facilities

A consortium of investors managed by Fiera Axium Infrastructure Fund acquired GE Energy EFS's entire 60 per cent interest in the Toba Montrose General Partnership which owns and operates the 235 MW Toba Montrose Hydro Facility in British Columbia and its entire 49 per cent interest in the Dokie General Partnership which owns and operates the 144 MW Dokie Wind Facility in British Columbia from GE Energy EFS. The balance of each facility continues to be owned by Alterra Power.

GE Energy EFS was led by Mark Tonner, Kevin McCarthy, Rink Smith and Jatin Gupta and internal counsel Marc Adler and represented by a Heenan Blaikie LLP team including Allen Garson, Ilia Danef, Mark Jadd, Mike Hollinger, Maxine Ethier, Andrew Bourns, Ryan Patryluk, Jon Smithen and Leslie Chong.

Fiera Axium was led by Stéphane Mailhot, President and Chief Operating Officer and Frederic Brassard, Vice President, Corporate Development and Legal Affairs and represented by a Davis LLP team including (former partner) Doug Buchanan, Mark Schmidt, Mike Styczen and Megan Filmer (corporate/commercial and financing); Jonathan Gilhen (competition); Carlos Mendes (real estate); Laura Bissett (environmental) and Angeline Nyce (First Nations).

The consortium of Project Lenders for both the Toba Montrose and the Dokie Facilities was led by The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company, which was represented by Kevin Wright at McCarthy Tétrault LLP.
