GE Commercial Finance Acquires Bombardier Capital's Inventory Finance Division

GE Commercial Finance (GE), the business-to-business financial services unit of the General Electric Company, completed its previously announced US$2.3 billion acquisition of Bombardier Capital's Inventory Finance division (BCIFD) on May 31, 2005. BCIFD, which was part of the financing division of Bombardier Inc., provides floor plan financing for a diverse range of equipment in Canada and the US.

In Canada, GE was represented by Paula Hurwitz, associate general counsel – Canada, and assisted by Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP with a team that included Ken Klassen, Sonny Bhalla and Alain Roberge (corporate), John Bodrug and Mark Katz (competition).
