Ivanhoe Mines Completes $140M Equity Offering

On July 8, 2004, Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. completed the offering of $140 million of common shares, the proceeds of which will be used to fund additional exploration and development expenditures on Ivanhoe’s Oyu Tolgoi copper/gold project in Mongolia and its mineral projects in China.

The issuer was represented by Goodmans, with a Vancouver-based team that included Paul Goldman, Bruce Wright, Steve Robertson, David Redford and John Munnis. Ted Maynard and Ian Putnam of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison acted as US counsel.

The underwriters, GMP Securities Ltd. and BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., were represented by Torys, with a team that included Peter Jewett, Kevin Morris, Rena Shadowitz, Shauna Parr and Shiraz Gheyara in Toronto, and Andrew Beck and Stephanie Weissglas in New York.
