Manulife Launches MIX Funds

Manulife Mutual Funds, a division of Elliott & Page Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corporation), launched the Manulife Investment Exchange Funds Corp. (MIX) family of mutual funds on October 29, 2002. Shareholders of the MIX funds have the freedom to move among 27 classes of mutual funds on a tax-deferred basis. The managers of the MIX funds include AIM Funds Management Inc., AIM Capital Management, Inc., Fidelity Investments Canada Limited, SEAMARK Asset Management Ltd., Franklin Templeton Investment Management Limited, McLean Budden, Alliance Capital Management Canada, Inc., Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Wellington Management Company, LLP.

Manulife was represented by Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Toronto, with a team that included Anil Aggarwal (securities/corporate), Elizabeth Johnson and Mitchell Thaw (tax) and Jon Holmstrom (derivatives); working with in-house counsel Robert Weppler.
