RBC Issues $500M of MTNs

Royal Bank of Canada completed the issue of $500 million series 7 medium term notes on January 27, 2004. The notes bear interest at a fixed rate of 3.96 per cent per annum until January 27, 2009, and at the three-month banker’s acceptance rate plus 1 per cent thereafter until their maturity on January 27, 2014.

The notes were issued under a RBC short form base shelf prospectus dated July 28, 2003, qualifying the issue of up to $4 billion aggregate principal amount of medium term notes. The dealer syndicate was led by RBC Dominion Securities Inc., and included CIBC World Markets Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., TD Securities Inc., Merrill Lynch Canada Inc., National Bank Financial, HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc., Desjardins Securities Inc. and Laurentian Bank Securities Inc.
