Royal Bank of Canada Issues CHF450 Million Floating Rate Notes Under its US$40 Billion Programme for the Issuance of Notes

On February 14, 2008, the Royal Bank of Canada issued CHF450,000,000 Floating Rate Deposit Notes due February 2011 (listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange) pursuant to its US$40 billion Programme for the Issuance of Notes. The joint-lead managers for the offering were BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA, Bank Vontobel AG and Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited. Royal Bank of Canada was represented by Ogilvy Renault LLP, with a team including Susan Mann (London) and Barry Segal (tax – Toronto) and Paul Guthrie and Melinda Anderson of the RBC Law Group. David S. Hughes and Tessa Brentnall of Allen & Overy LLP advised RBC with respect to United Kingdom tax.
