The Carlyle Group Acquires Diversified Global Asset Management Corporation

The Carlyle Group, a US-based global alternative asset manager, completed its acquisition of Diversified Global Asset Management Corporation (DGAM), a Toronto-based global manager of hedge funds with more than $6.7 billion in managed and advised assets. 

DGAM was represented in-house by Lisa Shostack, Managing Director and General Counsel; and externally by Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP with a team of Tim Baron, Brooke Jamison and Ben Howard (corporate and securities); Ian Crosbie and Chris Anderson (tax); Anita Banicevic (competition) and Jessica Bullock (employment) in Toronto, and Gerald Shepherd (securities) and Scott Semer (tax) in New York.
