TV5 and Teleglobe Agree to Paris-Montreal Broadcast Deal

TV5, a consortium of Quebec, Canadian, and European French-language television broadcasters whose broadcasts are shown on the global TV5 network, and Teleglobe Inc. recently entered into an agreement pursuant to which Teleglobe will provide bi-directional Paris-Montreal fiber-optic video/audio/data service for television broadcasts. The agreement is the first for Teleglobe for service between Paris and North America via its GlobeSystem Video Network. TV5 broadcasts in over 120 countries, reaching more than 110 million households, representing over 500 million viewers worldwide, making TV5 the third largest international television broadcaster.

Representing TV5 was Stéphane Gilker and Peter Villani of the Montreal office of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. Teleglobe used the services of in-house counsel Caroline Poirier.
