University of Toronto Closes Debenture Offering

The University of Toronto Governing Council, operating under the name of the University of Toronto, completed, on December 15, 2003, a $200 million private placement of 5.841 per cent series B senior unsecured debentures due on December 15, 2043. Scotia Capital Inc. and TD Securities Inc. were the agents and joint lead managers.

The university was represented by Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP’s Carol Pennycook, Julie Lane and Ryan Voegeli (corporate) and John Zinn (tax). The agents were represented by Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, with a team that included Connie Sugiyama, Jason Saltzman and Troy Krushel.
