Ted Betts is a leading Canadian and international construction and infrastructure lawyer. He is the head of the Infrastructure and Construction Group at Gowling WLG and is a Certified Specialist in Construction Law. He acts on all aspects of construction, with a focus on project structuring, procurement and contracts. He works in all sectors that involve construction projects, including commercial construction, real estate development, P3/infrastructure and civil works, power and energy (nuclear, hydro-electric and solar power generating stations), mining and transit/transportation. Ted has worked on some of the largest construction and infrastructure projects in the world, including the rehabilitation of a major Canada-US cross-border bridge, and a US$35 billion nuclear power plant in the Middle East. Ted is recognized as a leading construction, infrastructure and projects lawyer by Lexpert®, Legal 500 Canada and Best Lawyers in Canada. Ted currently sits as the Vice-Chair of the Executive of the Construction and Infrastructure Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA). Ted is also the chair of the OBA's Construction Lien Act Reform Committee and has been at the forefront of legislative reform in the construction sector across the country.
