Over the last 35 years, John has been counsel on a multitude of complex construction, development, and commercial cases in British Columbia. He is committed to the use of alternative dispute resolution and pragmatic, business-oriented approaches to the resolution of disputes. He is a member of a wide variety of construction industry associations and is a founding Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. He is the author of numerous articles on construction law, commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation topics and is frequent lecturer to construction industry and legal groups, including the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC and the BC Professional Legal Training Program. John has for many years been included in The Lexpert®/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, has the highest possible (AV) rating in both commercial and construction litigation from US ratings agency Martindale-Hubbell, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada and the UK's Who's Who Legal as one of British Columbia's leading construction lawyers, mediators, and arbitrators.
