Chris practises corporate and commercial litigation, with a strong focus on class action defence, regulatory enforcement and cross-border litigation. Chris has served as co-Chair of Osler’s Class Actions Defence Group, and he has acted as lead counsel in numerous class proceedings across Canada involving allegations of anti-competitive conduct, securities violation and insider trading, misleading advertising, privacy breaches and economic torts. Chris also has extensive experience in litigating commercial disputes involving oppression claims, directors' and officers’ liability, auditors’ negligence, insurance disputes, data breaches and professional liability. Chris has acted in a number of leading antitrust, securities and disciplinary investigations and enforcement proceedings, and he has argued cases before trial and appellate courts across the country, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, the BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Chris has law degrees from McGill and Harvard, and prior to joining Osler, Chris served as a law clerk for the Right Honourable Antonio Lamer, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
