Don is RMRF’s Construction Law Team Leader. His construction law practice involves providing advice in respect to contract delivery models and negotiation, insurance and bonding, tendering and procurement, builders’ liens, litigation, and alternate dispute resolution. Don has provided advice in numerous construction megaprojects. These include power projects (oil & gas, solar, wind, nuclear, and carbon capture) and over 100 public–private (P3) infrastructure projects (hospitals, penitentiaries, water treatment, and transportation) throughout Canada, the United States, and Australia. He has appeared at all levels of the courts of Alberta and the Northwest Territories and in mediations and arbitrations as counsel and as mediator/arbitrator. Don is currently on the Board of Directors of a US public company and is a Fellow and former Governor of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. Since 2006, Don has been selected by peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada and as a Lexpert® Leading Practitioner in construction, defamation & media, and infrastructure law. Among other awards and accolades, Don has been named as a Thought Leader in Construction Law by Who's Who Legal and is also listed in the International Who’s Who of Public Procurement Lawyers and Business Lawyers.
