Practises exclusively in the area of construction law on behalf of general contractors, public and private owners, sureties, subcontractors, suppliers, financial institutions and design professionals from Canada and the United States. Provides practical risk management advice at all stages of a construction project. Practice includes all aspects of construction contract and project document drafting and construction claims, defences, tendering issues, claims for lien, breach of trust claims, delay claims and surety bond work. Employs alternative dispute resolution and advocacy at trial and appellate levels. First lawyer to be appointed as a Member of the Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC), where he participated in the revision and development of standard CCDC construction contracts and other documents. Was a Member of the CCDC for over a decade. Past chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction Law Section and continues to be an Executive Member of the CBA’s Construction Law Section.
