Michael Dery is a Partner and the leader of Alexander Holburn’s Aviation Practice. Mr. Dery represents aviation insurers, airlines, operators, flight schools, UAV operators, AMO’s and FBO’s in complex litigation and regulatory matters. He has provided counsel and advice to clients on litigation arising out of aircraft accidents, aviation related product liability litigation, airline claims handling, human rights matters and various other transportation-related issues. Mr. Dery has also represented and advised shipping lines, non-vessel operating common carriers, railways, freight forwarders, trucking companies and load brokers. He has appeared for clients before all levels of court in BC and in the Federal Court of Canada. He also conducts litigation in Ontario, Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Mr. Dery has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Guide to the World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers. He is a member of the British Columbia Aviation Council, the Aviation Insurance Association of America, the Canadian Bar Association (Air Law, Insurance and Civil Litigation subsections) and the American Bar Association (Forum on Air and Space Law).
