Ted Betts is a partner in Toronto and head of Gowling WLG's Infrastructure and Construction Group, and a Certified Specialist in Construction Law. He acts on all aspects of tendering, negotiating, and drafting of construction contracts, structuring, project management, financing, and sales. Ted has developed specialized expertise in negotiating and drafting construction contracts on large-scale construction, P3/infrastructure, and development projects. He works in all sectors that involve construction projects, including commercial construction, real estate development, P3/infrastructure and civil works, power and energy, mining, and transit/transportation. Ted has worked on some of the largest construction and infrastructure projects in the world, including the rehabilitation of a major Canada–US cross-border bridge, and a nuclear power plant in the Middle East. He is the Chair of the Executive of the Construction and Infrastructure Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association. Ted is also the chair of the OBA's Construction Lien Act Reform Committee and has been at the forefront of legislative reform in the construction sector across the country. He has been recognized in Chambers Canada, The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, The Legal 500 Canada, and The Best Lawyers in Canada.
