Ms. Hunter has a broad civil litigation, arbitration and administrative law practice, including complex commercial matters, class actions, public law, regulated marketing, professional liability and defamation. Claire appears frequently as lead counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, the Supreme Court of Canada and before arbitral and administrative tribunals. She also has significant experience conducting regulatory and internal investigations. Claire is a frequent author and speaker at continuing legal education programs on litigation and access to justice related topics. A graduate of McGill (BA), Stanford (MA) and University of Toronto (JD), Claire was a law clerk to the Honourable Mr. Justice Iacobucci at the Supreme Court of Canada. She was called to the Bar of New York in 2004 and British Columbia in 2010 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2018. Claire is Chair and President of the Access Pro Bono Society of British Columbia and has received a number of awards for pro bono and community service. In 2017, Claire was named one of Lexpert’s “Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40”. In addition to Lexpert®, Claire is recognized in Chambers Canada, Benchmark Litigation and Legal 500.
